Thanksgiving break. 5 days. No school.
If you ask me it’s a tease to the three and a half week break we get for Christmas. You might be thinking, “What am I going to do with only ONE week with no school?” Well get creative, and if you are struggling, here are 10 ideas to get your mind flowing!
- Get Caught up on school work.
Use your 5 week days with no school to catch up on the 25 missing assignments you have in your math class. Yeah, I caught you, but I can’t blame you. We are getting close to the middle of the year. Times are hard and kids are lazy. Take some time and get what you need to get DONE!
- FINISH THOSE COLLEGE APPS.
Seniors, I see you. November 30th is on its way and it is NOT coming any slower. Get them done if you have some down time. Don’t wait until the last day, because wifi is unpredictable and you never know when it will stop working.
- Read a book.
If you are someone who loves reading, but can never find the time. . . THIS IS YOUR CHANCE! Grab your favorite book, a blanket, find a comfy spot and start reading. This is a great way to relax and be alone while hanging out with your favorite character!
- Binge watch your favorite show.
If you don’t love watching a whole season of a show in one sitting, you are lying. Log in to Netflix, cuddle up in bed and watch any show your heart desires. Once you finish, pick a new show. It’s not a waste of a day if you are having a good time.
- Spend time with your family.
During school days it might be hard to find time to hang out with the people that are important to you. Take this time to put your phone down and talk with your loved ones. Those are the people who will be there for you forever, make them a priority over this break!
Is any explanation needed? Nap. Sleep in. Catch up on all the sleep you missed out on while not doing anything productive at night.
- Go Black Friday shopping.
There are deals everywhere. Stay out late and grab them! Fight over the last iPhone X. Buy your loved ones Christmas gifts, or your math teacher to make up for the 25 missing assignments mentioned in #1.
- EAT SOME GOOD FOOD.
IT IS THANKSGIVING BREAK! COME ON NOW, EAT GOOD!!!
Cleaning is a great way to clear your mind. Clean your room, and get yourself reorganized. After doing this you will feel both refreshed and reorganized.
- Do nothing.
Sit down, grab some left over turkey, and spend some time with yourself. It is easy to get caught up in everyday stress. You have 5 days to relax and recollect yourself. Take this chance.
If you don’t do any of these things over break, then at least take the time to reflect on all that you are Thankful for. There is a lot happening in the world, and it is important to focus on all things that are positive. With that being said from our journalism to your hearts, we hope you have an AMAZING Thanksgiving!!
