Cher & Celine Took Over the BillBoards

This past Sunday the biggest names in the music industry celebrated achievements in Las Vegas. We all love to watch the performances but the true stars of the award show were two music legends, Cher & Celine Dion.

Cher attended the award show to  not only receive the Icon Award but perform her classic hits Believe and Turn Back Time. Celine went to celebrate the twentieth anniversary of the film Titanic which featured her most successful song of her career, My Heart Will Go On, which she performed.

Any person who knows Cher, knows she is a trendsetter in every way, not excluding fashion. During her live performance, the 71 year old wore a sequin outfit with matching pink wig during the Believe set and switched to the black leather and knee high boots for the Turn Back Time Set.  Later in her acceptance speech, she paid tribute to  her mother and spoke of the words she told her as a little girl which were:

“You’re not be the smartest, you’re not going to be the prettiest, you’re not going to be the most talented, but you’re going to be special.”

Mother truly knows best because she was right. From the early 70’s she was hitting the charts as a part of the duo Sonny and Cher. Then going solo once again in the 80’s, 90’s while on the side hitting the small and silver screens.

Celine has been gracing the world with her chilling voice for decades. She’s always recognized for lending her vocals to the soundtrack of Titanic. From ballad to ballad she’s been killing the game.  That night she still performed the song beautifully without a doubt, but had extra help from the audience who knew the song by heart.

Those too young in the audience to appreciate the songstress’ performance must know now what an honor it is to witness two legends live. It’s clear that these two women owned the whole show.
