For all you coffee drinkers out there, you may think of coffee just part of your morning routine. But it may be part of a longer, healthier lifestyle. With several studies, scientist have shown that the people who drink the most coffee, live longer, and reduces the risk of disease, such like Alzheimer’s and diabetes.
When was coffee discovered? Well coffee was discovered in the 9th-century by a man named Kaldi. One day Kaldi’s goats were acting unusual and were “prancing and frolicking about. He noticed that his goats were eating something strange, it was red berries and shiny leaves of an unfamiliar tree. Kaldi decided to try some and began “prancing and frolicking about,” just like his goats. He realized how energetic he was after eating one. He named this caffeine.
Drinking coffee can have it pros and cons. Having 400mg of caffeine, reduces the risk of Parkinson’s disease, Alzheimer’s, gallstones, cancer, strokes, etc. Plus, caffeine can also make certain pain killers, like aspirin, more effective. However, too much coffee can make you jittery, lead to sleep problems, gives you headaches, and raise your blood pressure. When drinking coffee many people drink much more than 4 cups, which is the usual amount of coffee a person drinks a day. You may think that it’s bad drinking more than four cups, but with studies, they say that the more you drink coffee, the longer you live.
You may wonder how or why coffee makes you live longer. When hot water runs through the coffee grounds while brewing, the substances in the coffee beans mix with water, and becomes part of the drink. There are also many other compounds in the caffeine, such as antioxidants. Antioxidant is what protects our bodies from oxidation.
Coffee is also one of the healthiest beverages on the planet. Dietitians who specialize in obesity have found that drinking coffee is more an efficient way of loosing weight. The coffee is a stimulation and therefore increases your metabolism.
When treating yourself with a cup a coffee, remember the more you drink the longer you live. But really, the moral of the story. COFFEE IS THE BEST THING EVER!
