2016 has been a rough ride for those who have lost the ones they love and look up to. These role models that showed us it’s okay to be different and to never give up on our dreams. To honor them, let’s take a minute to reflect on why they were admired by so many.
Tony Burton: Was an American actor, comedian, boxer, and football player. He was known for his role as Tony “Duke” Evers in the Rocky franchise. He was 78 when he passed away in February 25, 2016.
Doris Roberts: An American actress, author, and philanthropist whose career spanned six decades of television. She appeared as a guest on many talk and variety shows, along with appearing as a panelist on several game shows. Losing her on April 17, 2016 was rough for those that grew up watching “Everbody Loves Raymond.”
Anton Yelchin: Was an American film and television actor, known for portraying Pavel Chekov in the Star Trek reboot series, Jacob Helm in Like Crazy, Jim Lake Jr. in Trollhunters, and several other prominent roles. Anton Yelchin died within a minute of his freak car accident on Sunday, June 19.
Prince: 57, one of the most inventive and influential musicians of modern times with hits including “Little Red Corvette,” ”Let’s Go Crazy” and “When Doves Cry.” Everyone loved Prince and many were heart broken with his death. He passed way on April,21.
These are just a few of many celebrities that we have lost. I would like it if you can take a moment of silence to respect and honor those who have passed during 2016.
