Does Halloween cost you a lot of money? More than 171 million Americans plan to celebrate Halloween this year, spending an average $82.93, up from last year’s $74.34. Total spending is expected to reach $8.4 billion, an all-time high in the history of NRF’s annual survey conducted by Prosper Insights.
These are the reasons why we are using so much money:
Consumers plan to spend $3.1 billion on costumes (purchased by 67 percent of Halloween shoppers), $2.5 billion on candy (94.3 percent), $2.4 billion on decorations (70 percent) and $390 million on greeting cards (35.4 percent).
That is a lot of money to spend on one night. Don’t get mad at your parents when you don’t get your costume you asked for. Just remember it cost a lot of money and it will not be so smart to buy a expensive costume that you will wear one night.
