This past Friday the Mustang football team destroyed the Mission Oak Hawks with the game resulting in a 49-0 win. What also made this game so amazing is that the Mustangs raised money and dedicated the stadium to breast cancer awareness. Everyone was asked to wear pink or white and were asked to donate money to the cause.
The Mustangs not only came out with a win on the field but they won in the whole aspect of the day. The two schools were both aired on channel 47 earlier that morning and it was very evident that the Mustangs were going to bring everything they had to the game that night. The spirit and atmosphere of the day was amazing.
Talking to Senior ASB president Sarah Wilbur about how she feel the day went she says, ” I believe our 18 hour day was a test of our school spirit and we aced it.”
There were about 700 students who attended the morning rally which helped the day get going and fill it with as much spirit as possible.
I asked senior quarterback about how he felt his team did and he said, ” It was the first game that we had everyone back so it was a good win but we still have a lot of work to do.”
Talking to Senior Payton Silva, he says, ” There is always room for improvement, but I think we are headed in the right direction.”
I also got to talk to freshman quarterback Elijah Burrell who got some reps in the game as well and he said, ” I was nervous at first but as I started running more plays it started to become natural just like I practice.”
All in all, the Mustangs are making some great memories that will be cherished forever.
