Mustang Football: The Sheepdogs

The Mustang football program has some big shoes to fill following the season they had last year.

So far they are off to a great start!

Having lost some key seniors, the Mustangs have been working hard and training all summer so we should be expecting great things this season. Talking to quarterback Andre Aguilar, he feels very confident in this upcoming season.  He says, “Being quarterback of the varsity team is a hard role to take on but I like it.”  It seems that he is taking the reins and leading his team to victory with no problem.

The Mustangs took on their first opponent last Friday and came out with a 28-7 win over the El Diamante Minors.  Lj Early, another senior returner, says, “Our offense is clicking which will help us to be successful this season.” That seemed to be very apparent at last Friday’s game with the Mustangs scoring early on in the game.

They call themselves the sheepdogs and to senior Andre Aguilar, “It means being a leader and taking charge. Being an example for the young ones.”

Big things are expected from the Mustangs this year. Come out and support your Mustangs this Friday at the Mineral King Bowl as they take on Mt. Whitney Pioneers.
